Power in Positivity - June 27, 2016

Hey everyone!

It's amazing to see all the work that can be done when you aren't stuck in bed :)
I'm feeling a lot better thankfully. Just some stomach bug I guess.

This week I have been focusing a lot on being more positive. Logically it should be something that is easy to do, yeah? It doesn't always turn out that way. The best things in life are hard to do at times. But I noticed when we put forth that extra effort to do those things that are hard we are blessed so much because of them. We choose to overcome the natural and carnal man. We choose to find joy instead. We all have weaknesses that can hold us back and get us down but when we choose to do what it says in Ether 12:27 and be humble then we are stronger than we ever have been before.
And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.
This week we got to go on exchanges with the sisters in claremore. They just happen to be some of my favorites. :) had a blast down there. Came back thursday and learned how to make bread with sister hogge. her bread is famous around here! Did some service for a member. Sister Gerard ended on a ladder with her head in the ceiling doing some demolition. I am blessed to have sister gerard because ladders and spider infested ceilings just don't sit well with me.

I hope you all have a great week! I love you lots! thank you for the prayers. You are amazing!

Ah, the timple! - June 20, 2016

Hello!

What a week! We had the great opportunity to go to the Oklahoma City Temple on Tuesday. We were able to do baptisms, sealings with the Lovelands, and then we did an endowment session. I am so grateful we were able to go. I was really reminded of how much the temple is a place for learning. If we go with humble hearts and sincere questions, so much will be made known to us.

I have been pretty sick this week so I spent majority of it sleeping. The members here are truly a blessing to me! Between sister gerard, sister loveland, and the members I am really taken care of. :)

I hope you all have a great week! Love you lots!

Gratitude - June 13, 2016

Hey Everyone!

This is going to be short. It was a great week. We weren't super busy but I know we saw everyone that we needed to. We found quite a few people this week (non members and Less actives) who approached us and told us they were interested. It was really neat! It was just a testimony to me that we were in the exact place at the exact time. The Lords time really perfect!

This week I am grateful for Sister Gerard in taking care of me when I am sick.
I am grateful for the atonement and the ability to overcome sins and weaknesses.
I am grateful that I can go to the temple tomorrow with our mission.
I am grateful for everyone who loves and supports missionaries all over the world.
I am grateful for my family who loves me continually.
I am grateful to be a servant at this time and in this place.
I am grateful to witness the baptism and confirmation of Montie on Saturday.
I am grateful for eternal families.

I love you all so much!

Blurs. - June 6, 2016

Hey!

I hope you all had a great week! I would tell you all about mine... if I could remember it.

It seems that the busier the weeks we have the less I actually remember of them.

Here's some highlights though:
-Gave a less active our flower Petunia and made her day
-When Margaret (a crank, Irish, less active) calls us her Daughters
-spiritually in tune people who ask how you are and really mean it.
-Helping Sister Hart with visiting teaching
-Got a brand new car. We are having too much fun with it :)
-learning how to survive in the wilderness from the Obermiers
-Montie got his baptism interview on saturday. one week!
-Stake Conference!
-when Brother Krause gives us a dinner message instead of the other way around. Always so inspired! (I'll share more next week on becoming Fishers on Men)
-Jenny's parents came to saturday night stake conference and loved it! They committed to come to church next week!
-Found out we get to go to the temple as a mission! I miss that place!

Stake conference was great! We saw President and Sister Loveland and it made my day. All the talks were on how to strengthen our families with these 5 steps
-prayer
-scripture study
-family home evening
-Sabbath day observance
-going to the temple

It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 10 people in your family. I know that if you set a goal to improve on these things your family will be strengthened. These are the best things we can do to help our families be protected from the world.

I love you all so much! I hope you have a great week full of miracles! Miss you!

Sheep on a Leash - May 30, 2016

Hey Everyone!

Hope you are having a great memorial day! We started ours bright and early this morning with a 5k around the park/zoo. Then we had a breakfast with the ward. It was really pretty! Exercising with humidity is a whole other ballpark though. Oh, humidity!

This week has been super long so I'm trying to remember what really happened and it's not coming to me right now.

Funny story about my subject- we were trying to contact a less active in the middle of nowhere, kansas. We go up to the house and know at the door. No one was home so I turn and around to got down the stairs and there is this sheep on a leash in the middle of this yard. Completely random! I don't even know! kansas is just full of
surprises!

One miracle is that we got 14 member present lessons. We have struggled to get 5 every other week so getting 14 this week is a huge thing! We had some amazing exchanges with members. It is awesome!

I am so grateful for the leaders in our church and in this mission. As I have gone back and read talks from general conference and talked with our mission president and his wife this week I have felt the love that they have for us and the love our Heavenly Father has for us. I know He puts people into our lives for a reason and their experiences are able to help us grow. I am SO grateful for this gospel and the Lord's hand in my life each and every day. And I am grateful for companions that are aware of me and my feelings. I am truly so blessed
in so many ways.

I love you all! Thank you for all that you do and the support and love that you give!

How have you been able to see the Lord's hand in your life lately?

MIRACLES - May 23, 2016

TRANSER CALLS ARE IN.... I am staying with Sister Gerard for a third transfer!
It is pretty rare to stay with a companion for 3 transfers so we must be doing something really right or really wrong, I'm hoping for the first option. I am so excited about it though. :)

This week our zone has been trying to hit the standard of excellence. It is a set of goals that we should be trying to hit each week anyways but this week we all made it a priority to achieve it. In the beginning of the week Sister G and I just didn't feel like we needed to focus on it but more on the Less Active members in the ward.  As the week went on our focus changed. By the end of the week we saw how achievable this goal was and how much the ward would be blessed if we worked hard to achieve it. So we worked hard and hoped for many miracles to happen. We have included this goal in all of our prayers and it has been a blessing to see our prayers being answered. This is the Lords work. As I become a humble tool in the Lords hand so many more things happen. We find people to teach that we never would find on our own. I am so grateful for a companion that helps me work hard and is an AMAZING missionary.

Our Investigator Montie is doing awesome! We had dinner with them on Wednesday and the lesson was on baptism. We asked his wife, Jenny, how she felt when she was baptized and she joked about how she was peaceful until she felt like she was about to be dropped. Montie is a bigger guy so he was like "Yeah, when I get baptized they'll have to have [so and so] baptize me". We had talked about baptism before and asked him but hadn't set a date yet so when he said that we invited  him to be baptized June 25 and he accepted! He is so prepared and has changed so much in the last 2 or 3 weeks. We met with them again on Friday and he was like 'why do I have to wait until then to be baptized, can't I do it sooner?' So we talked about getting all the lessons taught and invited him to pray about a date. I just love that family so much! Every lesson we teach them about the gospel then they teach me about camping and guns. I think it is a fair trade :) I have never had so many offers from people to take me shooting. I must be in Kansas.

We were following up with a potential investigator yesterday. She is only 15 but really excited about what we had to say so she went inside to get her mom so we could talk to them. Her step dad ended up coming out instead and said some less than nice things to us but it ended up being a blessing. How? you may ask. Well as we were waiting on the porch we were talking to these little boys, like 9 yrs old. Then the guy comes out so we excuse ourself before we get kicked off his porch and one of the kids yells his address at us and says 'will you come visit me?'. He ends up following us to his house. 1/2 mile away, goes and grabs his dad and his dad gives us permission to teach his kid. They so sweet! But we totally missed the opportunity to make them new investigators. Still a miracle but we definitely learned to take every teaching opportunity when it comes.

This week we have been able to meet with a  lot of families that we haven't ever been able to see or it has been a couple weeks since we have seen them last. That was really good to talk with them. There are a ton of less active families out here, it breaks my heart. I love talking with them and helping them feel the spirit again and bringing up those good feelings. I invite you all to think back to the day of your baptism and the day you were converted to the gospel. If that day of conversion has not yet come, I invite you to become converted. Look at what is holding you back and change it. Heavenly Father loves us more than we will ever know. He is always giving us experiences to be edified and uplifted. Take hold of those experiences. I know it will change you.

This week was full of miracles! I wish I could share them all with you.

Pics 1 & 2 -  we helped the dahles paint their attic this morning and ended up with paint mustaches courtesy of Elodie.

Love you all so much! How are you all doing? Have you seen any miracles in your life lately?
Miss you!

Love,
Sister Frederickson

I would love to hear from you!

Serenaded Cows on a Gondola - May 16, 2016

What a week! I can't remember most of it because I spent a lot of time sleeping, on cough medicine, or at the dentist.... But it was a great week nonetheless.

Monday was spent at the dentist office getting a root canal then I spent the rest of the evening on Jenny's couch watching Meet the Mormons. Okay, Jenny and Sister Gerard watched it while I tried to sleep.

Tuesday we drove down to Claremore, Ok for exchanges. There were really good! I love Sisters Taylor and Calaway so much. They are amazing!

Wednesday we drove back to Indy. Had district meeting in Bartlesville, Ok first. I just love this district. We are all trying to hit the standard of excellence for this week so a lot of our discussion was preparing for that. Went tracting and met some great people. Not really interested right now but planted some good seeds. Had a goodbye party for two families in the ward that are leaving. It was fun. Spent most of the time with Nathan Hogge who is leaving for his mission in a month. He is so prepared it is unreal!

Thursday, we went back to the dentist to get fitted for a crown. I'm pretty sure they gave me something besides Novocain. Sister Gerard sure had a laugh about it though. We went to sister mcguires house so I could get some ice but they just kept talking to me. I found out that I want 3 cows in San Francisco and we're going be serenaded on a gondola.... It was a crazy day. I can't remember most of it but sister gerard took video's so I'll show them to y'all in 6 months. They are hilarious.

We got 4 new investigators this week which is amazing! Met an awesome lady. I'll tell you about her next week. I am out of time but I just want to say that miracles really do exist. Heavenly Father is aware of us and loves us more than we will ever know. I am so grateful to be a missionary and help move this work forward. He takes my best and turns it into so much more.

I love you so much! Have an amazing week! I would love to hear from you :)

Love,
