A Savior Is Born - December 14, 2015

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Well kinda, there hasn't been any snow here and it is really warm for December. This week is going to be full of plans for Christmas. Next monday we will be going to Bentonville for a mission wide conference. It will be a blast!
This week was a lot of fun. Monday we had dinner at Mary's house. She is a ton of fun. You just laugh and laugh. She also has amazing spiritual insights. I love it!
Tracted into some good potentials on Wednesday. We're going back this week to see if this girl Stephanie is interested. We share the video A savior is Born with her. She seems really neat.

Thursday we went up to Springfield for our conference with Elder and Sister Foster. Elder Foster is in the Quorum of the Seventy. It was so amazing to meet them and hear from them! A lot of prayers were answered. I'm grateful that we can all receive revelation and know what we need to do to become more Christ-like.
I've been thinking a lot about what kind of missionary I want to be. How do I want to leave an area. The actions we make says about the person we are. I want to be someone who is seen as a disciple of Christ. I'm definitely not there but I'm working towards it each day. Sister Foster gave an amazing talk about grace. I'm grateful for them coming and helping us become the best missionaries we can be.

Sunday we spoke in sacrament. It was only 10 minutes so I wasn't too nervous. It is nice being in a branch when you are speaking because then there are only 30 or so people to watch you. I spoke on Repentance & the Atonement and Sister Franson spoke on forgiveness. Then we taught Young Womens which is always fun. It feels so ward to think that I am 2 years older than them. I feel like I was just in Young Womens.

Hope you are all having a great week. Make sure you keep sharing the video A Savior Is Born.   I love sharing it. It is a great reminder to think of why we have a savior. How can a Savior help you?

December 7, 2015

Hello Everyone!

The first half of this week was all goodbyes when sister palmer left and the last half has been hellos introducing Sister Franson to everyone. She is so sweet. She is from Lehi. We got our christmas tree all put up and decorated. It definitely looks like christmas in our house :) We have been showing the new video the church put out 'A Savior is Born' to everyone this week. I really love it. If you haven't seen it already, watch it and share it with your friends! It is so good! Think about how you can make this christmas more christ-centered.

Not much has happened this week. We have been trying to find new people to teach. Our teaching pool has kind of slimmed down lately. Hopefully it will start to build back up again. We have some potentials that we are going to contact this week. So many people have been sick lately. We are trying really hard not to get sick and praying we can still have appointments. It is hard when people are ill. I'm hoping they start to feel better soon.

We are all getting excited for Christmas time. I got your package grandma frederickson :) Thank you!

Our branch mission leader is a cop so he had the car out on friday. He pulled us over when we were pulling into his driveway. Sister Franson had no idea who he was so he pranked her so bad! It was hilarious! He made us get out of the car so he could 'search' our vehicle. She was laughing when she found out it was a prank. Life is never dull in Ash Flat. I'm still so happy to be here. It is the best!

I love you all so much!

Transfer Calls - November 30, 2015

Hey everyone.
Sorry for the lack of email last week. It was a crazy day!
Monday we drove up to Mountain Grove and stayed the night at the sisters house there. We left for Bentonville Tuesday morning. Sister Palmer had another meeting there. It was a long day but I got to spend it with some great sisters. It was also great because I saw Sister Booms. She goes home Thursday! Sad day!
We were able to drive back to ash flat Tuesday night which was nice. It is always enjoyable to sleep in your own bed.

Wednesday we helped our member Sister Castor clean up a house that her son and his family are going to move into. It was fun! Wednesday we went over to the branch presidents house for an early Thanksgiving with his family. They are so sweet! We had SO much food then there were 4 different desserts. I was still full when I woke up Thursday morning.
Thanksgiving was really busy. We went to the Browns house for our real meal. She made Cornish game hens. It's hard to eat food when it is still recognizable. It was good though. We stayed there for a couple hours and played some games with Sister Brown. All she has is little kid games for her grandkids so we played Go Fish and Old Maid. It has been a long time since I've played those. Our next stop for the day was Mary's house. She was supposed to come to the Browns but her lupus was flaring up. We went over and took her some food. Then we went to Sister Stones house. Her family came over so she was so happy to see them. We didn't stay long just met her son who she talks about all the time, he lives in Tennessee. After Sister Stone we went to Sister Worsencrofts house. She has the funnest stories. Her cat is half bobcat. Shes also owned a raccoon and some other non-pet animal. Our last stop was the Newcoms. Ate more food there and had Charlottes delicious banana pudding. It was a great day! I"m so grateful to be serving in Ash Flat. There are so many wonderful people here. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share the gospel with others each day.

Saturday night was transfer call night. It was intense. Sister Palmer has been in Ash Flat since I have been on my mission. 7 months! so unfortunately for me but fortunately for people in missouri she is getting transferred. I'm definitely going to miss her so much. I have learned a lot about being a consecrated missionary this transfer and about loving obedience. I love that sister!
I'll be holding down the fort in Ash Flat. and guess what?!

I'm Training!
I'll be responsible for a brand new missionaries upbringing. I'm so excited for it. Definitely nervous though. Sister Palmer has been sharing some tips with me for a couple of days. It is definitely an honor to train. It is going to be a great opportunity with a lot of learning experiences. I hope I can be as good of trainer as mine was for me. :)

Sorry for the lack of letter writing lately. Hopefully I'll be better this next transfer. :) Feel free to write me.

I don't have much time... - November 23, 2015

I don't have much time. We have to cut our preparation day short. Thursday we found out we have another meeting in bentonville so we are heading up to west plains for a zone activity. then we'll stay with the sisters in mtn. grove again and then over to bentonville in the morning.
We have like 5 different invites for the thanksgiving plus a pre-thanksgiving at our branch presidents house on wednesday night. I love it here. It is going to be such a busy and exciting week.

Tell everyone sorry for a short weekly email. and Happy thanksgiving! Have fun!

Wasp Stings and Flu Shots - November 16, 2015

Hello!

Hope y'all are having a great week! This week has been awesome. We didn't have our truck back until Thursday afternoon so we completely relied on the members to help us out. They are amazing here. We got 5 exchanges! It was such a miracle. We were able to see so many people in the branch. One of the sisters took us to see the all the people she visits and teaches. It was really fun. We were with her from 10 am to 4 pm. Talk about member dedication!

Monday we went to our Less Active/Returning member Marys house for FHE. It was SO much fun. We played the game Upwards. It is like scrabble but you can also stack letters. We found out that it took Sister Palmer, Mary and I a whole game to figure out "diqu' isn't a weird. Gabspin is also not a word. haha! We had a lot of the fun. Then we showed her the restoration with the cup display. She basically taught us the restoration with ten new insights I had never thought of before.

Sister Palmer started reading the Book of Mormon together at night. It was been great. It definitely unifies us and the spirit is more in our home. I was able to finish the Book of Mormon this week. It is such a blessing to read it everyday. It is so powerful. I know it has helped me become a better missionary and a better daughter of God. I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true! It helps us all so much. Find time in your day to read it, study it, or listen to it. I promise you days will be better.

Thursday we had Zone Training Meeting and interviews with President Loveland. It was so great! This is such an amazing zone with dedicated missionaries. We have all started the Purification Challenge. It is about purifying your life and allowing things to come in that are important. It has been hard for some things like having dignified language but it has been so great to see the change in my life. I invite you all to go look it up and find somethings you can do to purify your life.

Sunday was the primary program. It was so adorable! there were about 25 kids up there singing their hearts out. Especially this 7yr old Bella. She was just singing like an opera singer. It was the best!

I am still in love with this branch! I don't ever want to leave here! I am so excited to spend thanksgiving here and if I am luckily enough, Christmas as well. We are already making plans with the members.

I love you all and miss you!

Love, Sister Frederickson

pictures: Sister Palmer and I trying on this interesting skirt... haha!

Haha! Totally forgot to talk about the wasp sting and flu shot. I got stung by a wasp at a service project on Saturday. It was not fun. My had hurt for a couple hours after. There are so many wasps in Arkansas. Surprised I haven't got stung before. And then I got a flu shot today. Faced my fear of needles. It wasn't bad at all then sister palmer was laughing at me because I was such a wimp.

Love you!

To Bentonville and Back - November 9, 2015

Hey everyone!
I don't even know where to begin. haha! This week has felt so long. Last Monday we drove to Mountain Grove to stay with the Sisters there. We had to go to bentonville for a leadership meeting for Sister Palmer. So left here at 7 and got there at 9. Spent the night then woke up at 4 AM. We met our zone leaders at the church and drove for 3 hours. I got to see Sister Booms one last time before she goes home so that was cool. I spent the day in Centerton/Bentonville, AR with 3 other sisters and worked there. Met some great people! Then we went back to the church building to pick up our companions around 4 and drove back to Mountain Grove to spend another night with them. Went to West Plains for district meeting on Wednesday. Everyone was so exhausted from MLC. haha!

Friday we drove back up to Mountain Grove to have exchanges with the Sisters. I had a party with Sister Gerard. It was so fun.

Sunday our tire went flat so we had a member take us to church. Then we found a sweet sister to go on exchanges with us for the rest of the day. Dinner at the Newscoms like usually and of course we saw Dorthy the 111 yr old woman. We sing to her every sunday. I've never sang more in my life than I have on my mission.

Took our car into the shop to get fixed from our deer. Out of a car for 3 days so that will be fun. Tried to change the tire this morning but couldn't get the jack to work. oops!

Love you all!

Love Sister Frederickson

Hit a Deer... - November 2, 2015

Hey Everyone!

Tuesday I was driving to our dinner appointment and this deer ran in front of our car and I hit it! Scariest thing! Neither of us were hurt. Just a little shocked! I've never even hit a bird or squirrel. It was just a small deer and it hit the driver side fender. Sometime this month we'll have to take it in to get fixed. :)

This week has felt so long but it has been so great. Wednesday we had district meeting here in Ash Flat. That was nice because it saved us miles. We have a great district. All the elders are so funny. we have district prayer with them every night over the phone and share our miracles from the day.

We were at the senior center thursday and we got some awesome smiley face glasses! We are obsessed with them!

Sunday we had an amazing lesson with our new investigator Latanya! She is so amazing! she reminds me a lot of my friend Sariah. She is 18 and still in high school. Sister Palmer and I didn't plan our lesson very well so I was worried how it was going to go but it was so amazing. We taught her the restoration. It was so powerful and sister palmer and I taught so well together! The spirit was definitely there. She was talking about how she sometimes has a hard time processing things but she understood what we were saying to her and it all made sense to her. And she asked for a Book of Mormon to give to her mom.

We contacted another potential and have a return appointment later this week. I think she is definitely ready to accept the gospel :)

Halloween was fun. We did service at the Library in Ash Flat in the morning then went up to a members house in Missiouri. We got lost going there so we accidently drove a couple miles outside of our mission boundaries. haha! Confusing windy roads are the worst!
After dinner we had to be at home by 6. We made rice krispies for some less actives then watched mormon messages and played a bible trivia game. #deepsouthgameclosets

This week is super busy but it is going to be great!

Have  a great week everyone. Love you!

1st couple of days in Ash Flat - October 26

Hello again!
I am so happy to be serving in Ash Flat. It is a tiny little branch but the members here are awesome! I think we had about 30 people in sacrament. It was so strange compared to Bolivar. Bolivar has a huge ward, really similar to one in Utah. Everyone out here is just so sweet! I am really excited to be here right now. Sister Palmer has been in Ash Flat for as long as I have been on my mission, so everyone gives her a hard time for it. It is pretty funny! I love Sister Palmer. She is so sweet!

Arkansas is so pretty! We get to go to Bentonville for Missionary Leadership Conference (mlc) because Sister Palmer is a sister training leader. That will be fun!
I'll try to send more pictures of what Arkansas looks like.

This has been a long week with transfers. The first half of the week we mostly packed and said goodbye to people. Nothing too exciting. :) It was really weird to say goodbye to everyone in Bolivar. I'll just have to come back and visit them. I got to see some of my favorite missionaries at transfer point in Mount Vernon on Thursday. I'm excited for the all the work to be done here.

I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Don't forget to write me :)
